It sounds counter intuitive: using an App to meditate, but for some it is the tool that really helps to sit and do ‘it’ regularly.
My favorite App for meditation is by far: Insight Timer for Android & Apple phones.
There’s a free and a paid version (not expensive, less than 5€). The advantage of the paid version is that your phone goes on mute during your meditation, so you won’t be disturbed, which I find fabulous.
You can choose to meditate in silence and simply use the App to set the desired timing for your practice, as well as choose how to inform you’re ‘done’: by sounding 1, 2 or 3 bells (different types are possible). You can also use guided meditations and there are thousands, in several languages and for every occasion: I love the yoga for sleep and yoga breathing.
Options: you can keep track of your achievements and connect with other meditators or friends around the world.
So give it a try and kickstart your meditation practice. Once you get the hang of it, you’ll see how it’ll change your day, as it really helps to focus more and be less distracted (my experience).
