Yoga teaching schedule as from September 2018

AmbikaYoga_58Hopefully you’ve enjoyed a great Summer and did do (some) yoga while on holidays.

September marks the start of a new yoga teaching schedule. There are a few changes to my public classes:

Wednesday (NEW)
6-7:30PM: all level hatha yoga class, Sivananda tradition, at Sampoorna Yoga studio, from 5 September.

Thursday
6:30-8PM: all level hatha yoga class, Sivananda tradition, at EU Council sport center (staff only), from 6 September.

I’m available for corporate yoga classes during lunch time, feel free to contact me if you have any inquiries.

Teaching schedule June/ July 2018

_MG_2151We’re already almost Summer ! This first half year has passed so quickly.  Check out my schedule until August:

Hopefully we’ll meet in class(es), or otherwise in the new school year.

FYI: in case you are pregnant, please inform me prior to attending the class, you can participate without a problem, but I’ll need to point out some alternatives forPranayama, the sun salutations, as well as for some asanas.

Join the Brussels Yoga Mala 2018: 108 Sun Salutations for charity

Since 2010, a bunch of very motivated yogins in Brussels organize the Yoga Mala around the Summer Solstice. All participants donate some money and all the proceeds go to a charity. Why 108 ? Good question, Shiva Rea has written a beautiful article about it, read it here.

So please join in on Sunday morning, 17 June 2018, as the Yoga community comes together for the 9th time in a celebration of the unity of Yoga to raise money for charity (cause still to be decided).

As we welcome the Summer Solstice let us offer our gratitude to life by saluting and honouring the Sun. We will practice a Yoga Mala, a prayer in motion of 108 rounds of Surya Namaskara (Sun Salutations).

Sun Salutations_Sivananda YogaThe practice will be a meditative flow, and whether we as individuals are able to do 1 or 108 rounds, the importance lies in our participation and intention – as a collective we will complete the Mala. There will be different teachers leading the rounds of Surya Namaskar, the practice is the Sivananda Hatha Yoga tradition.

Being there together in a spirit of loving-kindness, peace and joy is what it’s all about. And who knows what wonders will come from that…

The event is family-friendly, so children, partners and grandparents are warmly welcome. There will be Yoga for kids in parallel with the Mala, and other fun activities. Tea and biscuits for after!

You can also make a difference, so come and make it happen together with the Brussels’ yoga community.

Practical information:
Date: Sunday 17 June 2018
Time: 10h30 until approximately 12h00
Venue: Autoworld Museum Mezzanine, Cinquantenaire Park
Cost: EUR 2 Museum entrance fee, plus a donation for charity. The suggested donation is at least EUR 10, but we appeal to everyone to give what they can.
What to bring: yoga mat, bottle of water, open heart and lots of energy!

Prenatal yoga classes in Brussels with Layakari

Layakari

For pregnant yoginis, your pregnancy is a great and unique moment to reconnect with your body and your intuition, and yoga can help you with that. Prenatal yoga classes with my colleague and friend Layakari are an adaptation of the basic Sivananda class for pregnancy special needs. In this way the future mum can benefit of the physical aspect of yoga, as well as preparing breath and mind for labor. In the classes you will learn the following:

  • Connecting with deep resources of strength and energy, with the baby and the pregnancy
  • Postural alignmentreleasing stress, tension and fatigue
    Control of the breath and breathing techniques
  • Stretching and strengthening
  • Preparing for labor
  • Relaxation

Practical info
IMPORTANT: Prenatal yoga students should have passed the first trimester to start with the lessons !

Happy 2018. Happy New Yoga Year 🙂 May it bring love & joy to you, as well as lots of yoga!  To prepare for the new year ahead, I like to reflect on my favorite people and moments of the year before. For the new year, I promised myself to practice as well as teach yoga as often as possible.

Yoga is such a wonderful ‘tool’ as I like to call it: as it helps you to take good care of oneself. So if you want to simply try a class, renew your practice or continue your ongoing practice, feel free to join my classes this year.

Teaching schedule December 2017

_MG_2151We’re already almost in December ! The year has passed so quickly. The last month of the year definitely requires more regular yoga sessions to help you deal with (possible) stress and the heavy eating that is often related to December festivities 🙂
Hereby my schedule:
